AyPin: Pinterest Pin It & Save (“the App”) is developed and operated by Ayelite (“we”, “us”) for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and how it is deleted. Last updated: July 30, 2026.
Data we collect and store
- Shop identification and access tokens. When you install the App, Shopify provides your shop domain (for example
your-store.myshopify.com) and OAuth access tokens. We store these because the App cannot authenticate your admin session or serve your storefront configuration without them. - Button settings. The configuration you choose in the App (button style, colors, label, icon, size, placement, page and image exclusions, pin description template).
Data we do not collect
We do not collect or store any personal information about you or your customers: no names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, order contents, payment details, or browsing history. The storefront button sets no cookies and does not track shoppers. When a shopper clicks “Save”, their interaction happens directly with Pinterest under Pinterest’s privacy policy; we never receive their Pinterest account data.
How we use data
Shop and settings data are used solely to operate the App: authenticating your admin session, rendering the settings page, and serving your button configuration to your storefront. We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or use it for any purpose beyond running the App.
Where data is stored
App data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Hetzner, Finland). All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and the database is not accessible from the public internet.
Third parties
- Shopify — provides the platform, authentication, and webhooks that the App is built on.
- Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting provider that runs the App’s backend under our instruction.
- Pinterest — a separate service that shoppers interact with directly when creating a Pin; governed by Pinterest’s own privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us and we delete your session records and shop settings. Shopify additionally sends a shop/redact compliance webhook 48 hours after uninstall, which purges any remaining shop data. Because we hold no customer personal information, customer data request and customer redact webhooks are acknowledged with no data to return or erase.
Your rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about your shop. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days. You can also delete all App data at any time simply by uninstalling the App.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
